About Ekarasa

Ekarasa Doblanovic is based in New Zealand, Auckland and is currently undertaking her Master Degree in Visual Arts at Auckland University of Technology. Her creative practice encompasses painting and a co-authored participatory installation project titled Imagine the Land. A participatory work by Imagine the Land was recently featured in a presentation and publication hosted by The Louvre for the Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto for his collaborative project Year 1, Paradise on Earth.
Ekarasa’s works embody a strong sense materiality in which the tactile and haptic quality of colour and organic earth materials highten the sensation and affect of colour, but also investigates the collaborative and the participatory means where notions of space, impermanence and human interactions are explored with the aim to create an empathetic interaction between people art and nature.
